PTA membership is open to everyone in our school community…mom, dad, student, grandma, grandpa, or even neighbor!

The annual cost of the PTA membership is only $9 per member — $10 with transaction fee if paying online. It includes membership in the McKinley PTA, California PTA and National PTAs. $3.50 of the dues stays with the McKinley PTA. These funds support McKinley PTA activities. The remaining is paid to the state and national organizations to help fund programs and provide resources available to all PTA members. This includes funding for the legislative initiatives and advocacy in DC for education issues.

Our ability to provide so many great programs for our students, teachers, administrators and school staff is partly driven by our PTA membership dues, so we thank you in advance for your support.

There are also "perks" available to PTA members such as discounts to LegoLand, SeaWorld and even for computer programs.

Attend Meetings

The PTA holds meetings monthly

The McKinley PTA holds monthly meetings, usually on the second Thursday of each month, that start at 7:00 pm. Most meetings are virtual, with a few throughout the year in person.

You don't have to be a member to attend the meetings (membership means voting rights). You also don't have to attend the meetings or volunteer if you join!

Meetings usually run for 45-60 mins. We are always looking for volunteers to help with childcare during the in-person meetings. We need two babysitters per meeting. Volunteers must be 18 and over, unrelated, and cleared to volunteer through the district.

McKinley Elementary is fortunate to have a great group of volunteers who consistently dedicate their time and energy at school. 

We hope there is an activity or event that you can give a little of your time. You will put smiles on a lot of faces, including your own!

To volunteer at the school during school hours, you need to be a ‘cleared’ volunteer. To do that, you will need to fill out the forms on the McKinley website. You will need to provide your drivers license and have passed a TB Test.

To volunteer after school hours, you do not need to be a ‘cleared’ volunteer.
